Summer has finally arrived, borders are opening up, mask mandates are slowly being relaxed so there’s no time like the present to start looking into finally booking that long-awaited, much-deserved holiday. You may have noticed a new term emerging in the news and on social media: revenge travel. Sounds ominous. What does it mean though?

The term has been used to describe trips as varied as family reunions, big romantic holidays and returns to favorite destinations that we’ve missed.

When you think of the word “revenge”, travel certainly is not the first thing that comes to mind. It seems contradictory to the delight that should be experienced when traveling after not having done so for a long time, right?

In this case, the term “revenge travel” goes against the grain. It’s not about holding a grudge about a certain destination, hotel or airline or whatever the case may be. Taking revenge on a geographical location sounds pretty outrageous and, well, just plain silly, unless you have military might or something of the like at your disposal.

If anything, “revenge travel” is the flipping of a metaphorical bird at the pandemic, Covid or whatever has been holding you back from booking that holiday. Basically you’re thumbing your nose, sticking your tongue out and just going for it (can you tell I need a holiday?).

So how can the Hola Browser help you serve up that revenge travel on a platter (not cold, preferably in a warm destination!)? First off, after not having traveled for such a long time, you would want to get the best deal possible for the best flights and hotels, right? The Hola Browser allows you to do exactly that - did you know that depending on where you are located, you only get shown a fraction of the possible flight routes and costs out there? With the Hola Browser, you get the full, global view of what is out there. We literally put the World back into the World Wide Web.

Secondly, where you are located also impacts hotel prices. We believe in a borderless internet and what that means is, you should be shown the best possible prices out there. For example, somebody searching from Kuala Lumpur for a junior suite at a specific hotel in Mykonos will be shown a better price than somebody searching for the exact same suite, but from Copenhagen. Seem unfair? That’s because it is. The Hola Browser shows you the best deals online, no matter where you are based.

Thirdly (yes there’s a thirdly), unfortunately, there are already increased queues and delays at airports due to the increase in travel - this upswing has taken many by surprise - you’ll want to make sure that no matter which airport you’re at, you’re able to get online and access your favorite series, movies, news or sporting events from back home - the Hola Browser does that for you, at the click of a button.

So all that remains to be said is, Happy Revenge Travels to all!
